Karolina A. Dowd represents persons injured through the negligence of others. She routinely handles automobile negligence, premises liability, medical malpractice, and product liability matters. Ms. Dowd joined the firm in 2003 and became a partner in 2012. In 2014, she was listed in the Connecticut Magazine Super Lawyers publication as a Rising Star, www.superlawyers.com. Ms. Dowd is an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, including the Women’s Caucus. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Hartford County Bar Association. Ms. Dowd has worked on pro bono matters for the Connecticut Child Justice Foundation and Own the Dream CT.
Ms. Dowd was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 2003. She is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Court of Connecticut.
Ms. Dowd received her law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2002. She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in 1999 where she graduated with honors.
During law school, Ms. Dowd served as a clerk for the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization at Yale Law School representing individuals with disabilities. She also interned for the Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps in Stuttgart, Germany during law school. Prior to joining Walsh Woodard LLC, Ms. Dowd served as a law clerk for the firm of Moots, Pelegrini, Mannion, Martindale & Dratch, P.C. where she assisted in criminal defense matters.
Ms. Dowd was born in Zabrze, Poland and speaks fluent Polish. She has represented many Polish clients in personal injury and malpractice matters.
