Ms. Amata represents individuals in complex litigation, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, insurance coverage and all types of personal injury matters including, motor vehicle accidents, defective products, defective premises and other incidents involving negligent or wrongful conduct. She also handles all aspects of Appellate and Supreme Court matters.
Prior to joining Walsh Woodard LLC, Ms. Amata was affiliated with two well-respected law firms and represented both institutional and individual clients from inception through trial in matters including medical and pharmacy malpractice, professional malpractice, products liability and coverage issues in the area of UM/UIM motorist law. In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Amata has also argued cases before the Supreme and Appellate Courts of Connecticut. After practicing for 11 years, Ms. Amata left her partnership to spend time raising her family. During that time, she worked as an independent consultant and was retained by law firms across the state of Connecticut to handle personal injury litigation and appellate work. She was specifically retained to assist with the Doe v. St. Francis matters involving the sexual exploitation of minor children.
Ms. Amata was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1992. She is also admitted to practice in the Federal District Court of Connecticut. She is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. Ms. Amata received her law degree in 1992 from Western New England University School of Law and graduated cum laude with a degree in Finance from Providence College in 1989.
