Attorney Caitlyn Shea Malcynsky clerked for Walsh Woodard for two years before joining the firm as a trial attorney. She is a recent graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she concentrated her studies and extracurriculars on trial advocacy. Ms. Malcynsky competed for and served as President of the UConn Mock Trial Society. She received awards for excellence in Trial Advocacy, Constitutional Law, Asylum and Human Rights Law, and Legal Spanish. She completed clinical work in criminal law with the State’s Attorney’s Office and asylum law with the UConn Asylum and Human Rights Clinic. Ms. Malcynsky also was honored to serve on the Task Force for Access to Justice in Civil Matters created by the Connecticut Senate Judicial Committee – an effort by members of the bar and judiciary to promote greater equality and access to the civil courts in Connecticut. The Task Force’s efforts culminated in the submission of a comprehensive report with recommendations to the Judicial Committee, and the pending Senate Bill No. 364, which seeks to ensure legal counsel for individuals in situations of domestic abuse.
Ms. Malcynsky received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University, where she majored in Political Science and History. Prior to law school, Ms. Malcynsky served as Regional Finance Director for Governor Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, and worked in development and strategy in both the political and non-profit spheres.
Ms. Malcynsky continues to coach both undergraduates and law students in trial advocacy, is an active supporter and volunteer judge for CivicsFirst, and is a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. She is a member of Columbia College Women, the Columbia University Club of Fairfield County, the Columbia University Alumni Representative Committee, and The Williams School Alumni Association Board. She also serves as a Columbia University Class Agent.
Ms. Malcynsky is a member of the Connecticut, New York, and District of Columbia bars. She is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Bar Association. She is a Connecticut native and resides in West Hartford.
